CORE Design Group’s headquarters is the sort of space CORE designs for its clients – a space that tells a story. In this case, it’s the story of a small design firm getting bigger, adding talent, expanding its reach – outgrowing both its physical space and work habits developed over 15 years. CORE’s Principal, Teen Vebares, saw the new office as an opportunity to rethink the firm’s culture – and use design as a tool for ushering in a new culture.
A HOME FOR EVERYTHING. Our new headquarters feature individual ergonomic sit-stand desks with 2 designers per cube creating a mini design studio. The result: access for all, more elbow room at workstations, and a renewed commitment to collaboration and resource-sharing.
CULTURE OF COLLABORATION. A main goal for our headquarters was to maintain CORE’s “family” culture – with a family considerably larger than it once was. A big kitchen with a 22-foot standing-height table and TV provides space for meals, events, and all-hands meetings. Conference rooms of various sizes allow teams to work together more efficiently and spontaneously.
BRINGING IT ALL TOGETHER. The post-modern office provides our growing team with all the necessities and a few grace notes too: a skylight brings the sun into our two-story stair tower, lighting the path to our red entrance arch signifying you’ve arrived.
CORE’s headquarters is designed to be personal, comfortable, and open to possibilities. It is designed as the vehicle to carry the company into a future as vibrant and productive as its past.
