CORE Design Group designed a two-story, 76,000-square-foot medical office building for Penn State Health with practice space for up to 45 community-based primary care practitioners and Milton S. Hershey Medical Center specialists, as well as oncology, imaging and therapy services.
The project features design elements and processes intended to streamline the patient experience, similar to those found at the newest Penn State Health’s newest practice sites.
The practice is equipped with a real-time location system — using sensors, ID badges and mapping software — to manage the location of providers, staff and patients to reduce wait times for patients. In addition, the building’s design allows a patient’s entire visit – from check-in to check-out – to occur in the same room, providing smoother transitions and greater privacy than in a traditional practice setting.
The building is located at Noll Drive and Rohrerstown Road in East Hempfield Township, in Oaktree Development Group’s Lime Spring Square development.
